A roasted green tea from Japan. While Japan is famous for its spring green teas rich in umami (the well-known sencha), it also produces very different green teas with a delicious toasted profile. Bancha Hojicha is one of them. "Bancha" means that the tea comes from summer or autumn harvests, while "hojicha" translates as roasted tea: it is through roasting that this green tea takes on its brown colour and develops a very pleasant woody aroma. Although hojicha is sometimes ground into powder, our organic Bancha Hojicha is infused as loose leaves and can be enjoyed both hot and iced.
